Can I Sponsor My Aunts or Uncles for their Immigration to United States?

Question:

As a new U.S. Citizen, can I sponsor my Aunts or Uncles for their immigration to United States?

Answer:

The rules for derivative beneficiaries often cause confusion as to which relatives can file for whom. An U.S. citizen cannot file immigrant petition for an aunt or uncle, or for an in-law.

As a U.S.  U.S. Citizen, you can file immigrant petition for your own spouse or parent, and for your direct relative (child or sibling)
