Can My Patents' B-2 Visa Be Extended for Another 6 Months

Help Desk:

My parents got B-2 visa to visit us for 6 months, can their B-2 visa be extended for another 6 months under current immigration regulation?

Answer:

The USCIS officer determines the allowable time for B-2 visa in the U.S. The maximum time allowable is 6 months. It can be extended of that time, in 6 month increments, if such additional time is needed under current immigration regulation. When requesting many times of extensions, the parents may have problem in visiting U.S. in the near future.
